Introducing DG Lights New LED Landscape Lighting Catalog

The benefits of LED technology are well-recognized and sought after across multiple industries. Their intensity and uniformity make them ideal in landscaping, architectural and entertainment lighting industries – without sacrificing the intended aesthetics of your project. Their small footprint gives lighting designers more room for creativity. Additionally, their energy efficiency makes them attractive to green-conscious and cost-conscious buyers.

With approximately 50,000 hours of operational lifespan (approximately 17 years at 8 hours per night), LED fixtures far surpass your typical halogen lifespan. Since they last anywhere between 5 and 7 times longer, luminaires powered by LED lights need to be replaced less often than standard luminaires, contributing to significantly reduced maintenance costs. Something your customer will truly appreciate.

LED Facts:

Reducing environmental impact
49% of the electricity in the US is produced from coal fired power plants. Besides CO2, these power plants emit hazardous substances including mercury, nitrous oxides, sulfur oxides, and particulates. Using LEDs for lighting means using less electricity, and that means less of these substances contaminating our environment.

Waste Reduction
LED’s longer life-cycle reduces waste and energy associated with repair and replacement that is typical with neon, incandescent and halogen lighting.

Eco-friendly materials
No mercury or led is used in the manufacture of LEDs.

Less heat = less energy consumption
LED lighting produces minimal heat which reduces load on electronic transformers.

But before you jump into the LED market with both feet, here’s some important advice:

Know before you go. LED is a high-tech product; it takes real technical knowledge to sell to your clients and to install the fixtures. Find a supplier who will provide education and hands-on support.

Seeing is believing. Recently we’ve heard of suppliers “offering” LED products that are actually still in development, not even ready for sale! See the product and test out samples before specifying.

Not all LEDs are created equal. Your customers will rightly want to know how the brightness and reliability of the fixtures you’re offering compares to conventional halogens. The best LEDs are superior to halogen – but like any product, there are low-priced imitations that under-perform.

For example, many LED manufacturers put the electronic components right inside the bulb housing, overheating them and dramatically reducing their lifespan. The best LED fixtures separate the components from the light source, for longer life and greater reliability.

Now that LED is really catching on, some of the world’s biggest manufacturers are launching LED products. But “bigger” doesn’t necessarily mean “better.” Ask your potential suppliers: Is their LED technology truly field-tested and proven?

Five questions to ask any LED company before making a purchasing decision:

1. How long have you been manufacturing LED?
2. Does your company focus on LED exclusively, or sell all kinds of different lighting?
3. Can I speak with your engineers and get educated about the pros and cons of LED?
4. Do you manufacture here in the US, or are your products assembled overseas?
5. How many years of installations do you have with a track record of long-term reliability?

It’s your name on the line. At the end of the day, you want your customers to have years of trouble-free enjoyment from their LED fixtures, while feeling great about how they’re helping the environment. That’s a win-win-win situation for you, your customer, and our future generations.

In short, while some have suggested waiting for the next generation of LED’s, DG Lights proudly demonstrates that the future is now.

Sincerely,
DG Lights
